A change of scene for you this year since moving from the Reds, how have you been enjoying it?
The change has been good for me, the style of rugby the Brumbies play probably suits my game a bit better and I have really enjoyed the season. I've also enjoyed being a bit closer to my family in Sydney and getting home a bit more often although as the Canberra winter begins I'll miss the great winter weather of Brisbane.

Having settled into the fullback role you must be pleased with your form.
I've enjoyed being able to just play the one position for a few weeks running and have been able to get comfortable at fullback. The good form of the whole team in the past month has made it good fun playing at the back.

Have you played in every position in the backline this year?
Not quite, just 10, 12 and 15. I really enjoy the variety of challenges each position carries with it, the quality of the coaching and the players at the Brumbies makes playing numerous positions in the backline a lot easier as well.

The weekend’s win over the Crusaders must have been a fantastic feeling particularly with George, Steve and JP leaving.

It was a great way for the guys to finish against a top team in their last home game for the Brumbies. Unfortunately we couldn't make it a home final this year but I guess it's the next best thing. The atmosphere at the game and the crowd support was fantastic and the whole team was determined to send off Bernie, Ming and Greegs with a win.

With a vacant Wallaby fullback role needing to be filled have you let yourself consider those possibilities yet?

I must say I have thought about it a little but one thing the past has taught me is not to get distracted by things outside your control. My best chances of gaining selection I guess are playing well for the Brumbies and hopefully making the finals. Those games are the closest to Test rugby intensity from what I'm told and you need to be able to perform at that level.

Tell us a bit about your rugby background/career. Where have you played etc.

I started playing as a young kid at Lindfield, before going to Sydney Grammar and King's. I was on the periphery of Australian under 19's while I played in Canberra and a couple of years later played Australian 21s while playing for Gordon. In 00 and 01 I played the 7s tour and then managed to get signed at the Brumbies for a year before moving to the Reds for 4. Now I'm back in Canberra where my professional career began and am enjoying it immensely.

Rugby highlight so far?
Would have to be beating the Waratahs 56-10 in the 2002 Super 12 semi final.

Most competitive team mate?

Stephen Larkham, even though he only benches 80!

Toughest opponent?
I've been caught a couple of times by Rodney So'áilo and that didn't work out too well.

All the best for the weekend’s game, and the remainder of the year…..
