The Force are the highest placed Australian Super 14 team at the moment. That must feel pretty good?
Yeah, it's an exciting position to be in but to be honest we would like to be higher. We lost our first game of the season by 1 point, had a draw against the Waratahs and should have won our game against the Lions. Whilst it's nice to be near the top we know we can improve.

As leading try scorer and leading points scorer for Super 14, you must be happy with your own form?
Yeah I am but I'm my own hardest critic and there are definitely things I can improve on - some of my kicks haven't found touch and some of my tackles can be improved so whilst I've had a good start to the season I want to keep improving so I can be satisfied when I look back at the end of the season. You always aim to get better as the season goes on.

How have the new recruits fit into the squad - Giteau, Cross, Mitchell?
We were all a bit nervous about their arrival prior to the start of the season as we'd formed a pretty tight unit last eyar during our inaugural year with all the challenges we've faced. They have all fit in really well though and brought some really great leadership to the team which is something we were looking for them to do. We're strating to developing some strong combinations in the backs.

It looks like the squad is a lot more settled this year. Are things working better second year round?
Winning games definitely helps! We didn't have time to really trial things last year before being thrust into a very tough competition. This year our preparation has been better, all the systems and support are better and everyone is familiar with the environment. All those things are reflecting themselves on the field.

Obviously a first home win last weekend with you playing a major role - that must have been a fantastic feeling?
Yeah, it was an unbelievable feeling and was great to be able to repay our fans for their incredible loyalty, patience and support. They are easily the best fans I have played in front of. After last weekends game there were still 20,000 people in the stadium 20 minutes after the final whistle! The team enjoyed some celebrations into the evening.

And personally, how are you enjoying living in Perth?
I'm really enjoying it and it's proved to be a fantastic decision for me. I'm loving living near the beach and just being able to focus on my football.

You recently came back to Sydney to play for the first time against the Waratahs - must have felt a bit strange?
Yeah a little bit as that's where I grew up and went to school etc. It was a decision I had to make though and is just part of playing professionally.

With the All Blacks about to come back into the competition, who do you think is the team to beat?
The Blues are looking very solid this year and when they get players back like Rococoko, they will only get stronger. I would never write off the Crusaders despite their disappointing start. I think that we can be a real challenger if we continue to improve and play like we know we can.

You've been referred to as the next Joe Roff - what do you think about that!
Wow, that's quite a comparison! I've got a long way to go until I'm anywhere near Joe but I'll concentrate on my game and take each step at a time.

Cheers Cam and all the best against the Reds.
