The Rugby Union Players’ Association Inc. respects your right to privacy. We are sensitive to the concerns that our members, agents, service providers and online users may have with regards to the confidentiality, security and use of their personal information, and would like to reassure you of our position on this matter. The purpose of this Privacy Statement is to tell you what type of information we collect, how we may use that information, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the opportunities you have to access and correct the information we hold.

General Policy - Member Data

The Rugby Union Players' Association Inc. (“RUPA”), a not-for-profit organisation, collects data on its present and past members to enable the facilitation of programs which will best assist its members.

It is RUPA's policy not to disclose this data to external organisations other than where it is necessary for the operation and management of the activities of RUPA, and the provision of programs and services to the members, such as the management and delivery of the RUPA/ARU Career Training Scheme.

All information collected by RUPA is stored on the RUPA database and RUPA takes reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access, use or modification to the information.

All staff members with access to the information are obliged to keep that information confidential.

General Policy - Player Agent Data

RUPA collects data on the Player Agents who represent RUPA members and through administration of the RUPA Player Agent Accreditation Scheme. This information includes contact addresses, phone numbers, employment histories and general client lists. It is RUPA's policy to disclose contact phone numbers and addresses of player agents/managers to the ARU, State Rugby Unions and general public through phone enquires regarding commercial opportunities.

General client lists are not disclosed, however the RUPA does provide information regarding individual player/agent relationships to the ARU and State Unions to assist the operation of the RUPA Player Agent Accreditation Scheme and the contracting of players.

Access to information

Players and Agents may request access to their personal data held by RUPA by telephoning (02) 9230 0477, faxing (02) 9230 0489 or e-mailing info@rupa.com.au

Disclosure

All information is disclosed on the strict understanding that this information is not to be used for any other purpose other than for the specific purpose for which the information is supplied. RUPA takes reasonable steps to ensure that any recipients of information are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the personal information disclosed to them.  

Correction of Information:

Players can contact RUPA by telephoning (02) 9230 0477, faxing (02) 9230 0489 or e-mailing info@rupa.com.au to make changes to information held by RUPA including personal details such as address, contact telephone numbers etc. or the player becomes aware that the information held by RUPA is incorrect.
